The One That Got Away

I committed a cardinal sin this week. Going on to a set of night shifts, I made a conscious decision to leave my camera at home while I went to stay in a dingy room somewhere closer to where I work. I remember thinking 'I don't think there will be much opportunity for photography, somehow - I'll just leave it.'

There then followed the greatest lightning storm that I have ever seen in this country, and where I was had an amazing view over the harbour as the storm rolled in. It was stunning. It would have been photographic gold, and I had nothing except my phone. As a consequence, this is the best photo I could get.

Morale of the story? Take the bloody camera with you. I should have known better, really.
